Introduction
To depend means to trust, to have confidence, and to rely on someone or something. Depending on God mean that you are absolutely trusting God or putting your confidence in God or relying on Him on every issue of live and in every moment of your life
Why should we be depending on God?
- He’s the one that created us (Gen. 1:27, Psalms 100:3)
- He knows everything about us (Rev. 2:2,9,13,19, Ex. 3:7)
- He’s the Almighty (Gen. 35:11)
- With Him all things are possible (Gen. 18:14, Jer. 32:17&27)
- He’s the only one that can change our situation positively (1 Chr. 4:9&10)
In what area are we expected to trust in God?
- In our everyday activities (Psalms 121:8)
- In making critical decisions e.g. whom to marry, carrier, ministry & mission
- Whenever you are in distress ( Psalms 50:15 New Living Translation “Then call on me when you are in trouble, and I will rescue you, and you will give me glory.”
- In our making it Home- to resurrect with Him on the last day.
Conclusion
Depending on God makes the journey of life interesting and smooth. 1Pe 5:7 says ‘Casting all your care upon him; for He cares for you’.
